Week of September 1, 2024
From eBikes to checked baggage to passenger cars, battery safety is getting more and more attention from a wide range of regulatory agencies - this week S. In response to delayed battery production plants, EU battery incentive funding may not be available [forever] in yet another ripple (or dominoe) from decreased EV demand. Plug-in hybrids growth rate 10X higher than BEV growth rate in July (see This Week’s Top Pick for further discussion). And yet another Tesla setback...this time a Class 8 Semi fire on the road in CA. Meanwhile, China has had enough of the West’s protectionist tariffs and is preparing to fight back in court. Hope you enjoy the read and a nice weekend.
