Volvo is doubling down on its investment in the North American truck market with plans for a new $700M truck production plant in Monterrey, Mexico - but conspicuously absent is any mention of plans for electrified truck production in that new facility. Fully autonomous vehicles have seen a number of setbacks recently, yet Isuzu and Gatik both announced separate new investments and developments this past week, while Tesla and TuSimple (separately) are being held to account for their allegedly misleading claims of fully autonomous operation. GM is delaying SOP for its first JV battery plant with Samsung SDI and rolling its flagship EV cargo van (BrightDrop) under the Chevy brand. And Blue Bird announced delivery of its 2,000 EV school bus! Check out these headlines and more in this week's Global Roundup. Enjoy and have a nice weekend!
